PART 1: THE SCHOOL TRIP

Tom: Hi Maya. I am packing for our school trip. I am so excited about visiting the desert.
Maya: Tom, look at the instruction again! We are not going to the desert. It’s too hot there. We are visiting the Big Cave.
Tom: Oh, right. The cave. So, what do I need to bring?
Maya: Well, it is very dark inside the cave, so you must bring a torch.
Tom: A torch. Okay. And do I need scissors? I have a new pair.
Maya: No, we don't need scissors. Just bring a backpack and some plasters.
Tom: What about lunch? Should I make some sandwiches?
Maya: The teacher said we mustn't bring food. We will eat lunch at a local restaurant near the cave.
Tom: That sounds great. See you tomorrow morning. The bus leaves at 8:00, right?
Maya: No, Tom! 8:00 is when we arrive there. We must leave school at 6:30. Don't be late!

PART 2: KEVIN'S NEIGHBOURHOOD AND TET

"Hi everyone, my name is Kevin. I want to tell you about where I live. My family moved here two years ago. We live in the suburbs, about 20 kilometres from the city centre. I like living here because there are many modern things.
My favourite place is the library because it has many interesting books. There is a cinema too, but it is currently closed. However, there is one thing I dislike. The streets are very noisy during the day because of the traffic.
It is almost Tet holiday now. Everyone is busy. My dad is repainting the front door. My mom is buying some fruits. And I am in the garden planting some flowers. We want our house to look beautiful. For the New Year, I don't care much about lucky money. I just wish to have better grades at school."
