Part 1: A school camping trip
Lucas: Good morning, Ms. Green. Can I ask you about the school camping trip next month?
Ms. Green: Sure, Lucas. What do you want to know?
Lucas: Where are we going exactly? I know it's a natural wonder, but I forgot the name.
Ms. Green: We are visiting Kirk Island. It has beautiful scenery and amazing caves.
Lucas: Oh, how do you spell that?
Ms. Green: It’s K-I-R-K. Kirk Island.
Lucas: Thanks. And are we going on Friday as usual?
Ms. Green: Not this time. The bus is busy on Friday, so we are going on Saturday.
Lucas: Okay, Saturday. And how much is the ticket?
Ms. Green: Well, the normal price for adults is £25, but for students like you, it is £15.
Lucas: Great! £15 is cheap. Do I need to bring a tent?
Ms. Green: No, the school provides tents. However, it gets cold at night, so you must bring a sleeping bag. That is very important.
Lucas: A sleeping bag. Got it. Where should we meet? At the school gate?
Ms. Green: No, the bus can't stop there. We will meet opposite the railway station. It’s wider there.
Lucas: Okay, opposite the railway station. Thank you, Ms. Green.
Part 2: New Year Plans
Sarah: Hi Ben! Happy New Year soon! Are you busy?
Ben: Hi Sarah. Yes, very busy. My mom is cleaning the furniture, but I am decorating the living room with some peach blossoms.
Sarah: That sounds nice. I love preparing for the New Year.
Ben: How about you? Is your neighbourhood busy today?
Sarah: Actually, no. Usually, the streets are crowded and noisy, but today everyone is at home cooking. So, it is very peaceful.
Ben: Lucky you. My street is always noisy. By the way, are you making Banh Chung?
Sarah: My grandma is too old to make cakes now. So, my mom and I decided to make spring rolls. They are delicious.
Ben: Yummy! Hey, do you want to go watch the fireworks with me on New Year's Eve?
Sarah: Sure! Where?
Ben: Let's meet at the square. It’s better than the cathedral because the cathedral is too small.
Sarah: Great idea. What time?
Ben: The fireworks start at midnight. Let's meet early, at 6:30?
Sarah: Oh, I have dinner then. How about 7:15?
Ben: 7:15 is fine. See you then!
